NAD+ IV Therapy

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to commonly asked questions by patients seeking treatment with IV Vitamin Therapy.

  • What is IV therapy and what does it do?
IV therapy delivers fluids, electrolytes, and selected vitamins directly into the bloodstream. Because it bypasses the digestive system, absorption is immediate, which can support hydration, energy, and recovery.

Our formulations are tailored to your goals such as hydration, wellness support, skin glow, athletic recovery, or post-travel fatigue. IV therapy is not a replacement for medical treatment of illness; it is used to support overall wellness in appropriate candidates.
  • Is IV therapy safe?
When performed by trained medical professionals using sterile equipment, IV therapy is considered safe for appropriately screened patients.

Before treatment, we review your medical history, allergies, medications, and vital signs to be sure IV therapy is appropriate for you. As with any IV treatment, mild bruising, temporary soreness, or irritation at the IV site can occur. People with certain conditions (such as kidney disease, heart failure, or pregnancy) may not be candidates.
  • How quickly will I feel the effects and how long do they last?
Many patients feel improvement in hydration, energy, or clarity within hours to a day after treatment. Effects can last several days to a couple of weeks, depending on your hydration status, sleep, stress, and overall health.

Every person responds differently — our goal is to support your wellness, not promise a specific result.
  • Who is a good candidate for IV therapy?
IV therapy may be appropriate for generally healthy adults seeking support with hydration, jet lag, recovery after strenuous activity, or overall wellness.

You may not be a candidate if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have significant heart, kidney, or liver disease, active infection, anemia, or certain medical conditions. A brief medical screening helps ensure IV therapy is safe and appropriate for you.

NAD+ IV Therapy

Slow Infusion • Physician-Administered • Honest About Evidence

A popular wellness infusion, given slowly and with clear information.

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a molecule found in every cell in the body. It helps turn food into energy and plays a part in normal cell processes, and its levels fall with age. NAD+ IV therapy delivers it directly into a vein, slowly, over a few hours.

At Valoura Med Spa, NAD+ infusions are administered and monitored by our board-certified physician at our clinic in Savoy, a few minutes from Champaign and Urbana. Your dose is individualized after a medical consultation.

WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE NAD+

Patients often ask about NAD+ for:

  • ✓ Low energy
  • ✓ Mental focus
  • ✓ Recovery
  • ✓ Healthy aging

A NOTE ON EVIDENCE

NAD+ is important in the body, and research on raising NAD+ levels is active. However, studies of NAD+ IV therapy in people are few and small, and there is not yet good evidence that it improves energy, focus or aging. Many of the benefits people describe come from personal experience. We share this so you can decide with realistic expectations.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

NAD+ is given slowly for a reason. If it runs too fast, it can cause flushing, chest tightness, nausea or stomach cramps. These usually settle quickly when the drip is slowed, and your physician adjusts the rate throughout your infusion.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. Consultation: your physician reviews your history, medications and blood pressure, and sets an individualized dose and protocol.
  2. Treatment: your physician places a small IV line in your arm; the drip runs slowly, usually about 2–4 hours depending on your prescribed protocol.
  3. Comfort: your physician slows the rate if you feel any discomfort.
  4. Afterwards: most people can go back to their day.

WHO SHOULD BE CAREFUL

Please tell us if you:

  • ✓ Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • ✓ Have heart disease or heart rhythm problems
  • ✓ Have kidney or liver disease

This list is a guide only. Our physician confirms suitability at your consultation.
