Microneedling with PRF

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to commonly asked questions by patients seeking treatment with Skin Rejuvenation.

  • Can PRF fix all dark circles?
It can help circles caused by thin skin and shadows. Circles caused by brown pigment often respond better to a peel or brightening treatment. We check which type you have.
  • Is skin rejuvenation safe for my skin type?
Yes — when properly selected and performed, skin rejuvenation is safe for most skin types. Your safety is always our first priority.

    Before treatment, we assess:

    • skin tone and sensitivity

    • history of scarring or pigmentation

    • current skincare products (like retinoids)

    • medical conditions or medications

We then design a plan that is both safe and effective for your unique skin.
  • Is this the same as a facelift?
No. Non-surgical tightening gives a natural, visible improvement for early to moderate laxity. If your degree of laxity needs a surgeon, we will tell you.
  • Peel or microneedling?
Peels work on the surface: tone, dullness, pigmentation. Microneedling works deeper: texture, scars, firmness. Many patients alternate the two.
  • Will I look swollen?
For a few days, yes – that is the PRF gel settling. Plan the treatment at least a week before anything important.
  • Is a peel safe for darker skin?
Peels can be used across a broad range of skin types, but the choice of peel and the preparation matter more for deeper skin tones. That is decided at your assessment – this is exactly where physician supervision matters.

Microneedling with PRF

Made From Your Own Blood • Physician-Led • Supports Collagen Remodeling

Microneedling combined with a regenerative treatment made from your own blood.

Microneedling with PRF – sometimes called a PRF facial – combines two minimally invasive treatments. Microneedling creates controlled microchannels at treatment depths selected to stimulate the skin's natural collagen-remodeling response. PRF, platelet-rich fibrin made from your own blood, is then applied to the treated skin to support repair, texture and glow.

Performed under physician supervision at Valoura Med Spa in Savoy, a few minutes from Champaign and Urbana.

WHAT IT TREATS

Best for:

  • Dull, tired-looking skin
  • Fine lines and crepey texture
  • Acne scars and enlarged pores
  • Uneven tone and mild sun damage
  • Thin skin that has lost its bounce
  • Patients who want no synthetic products

Why Clients Choose PRF:

  • Prepared from your own blood – no donor or synthetic material
  • Supports the skin's natural repair process
  • Softer, more natural rejuvenation
  • Can be used across a broad range of skin types, depending on the patient's assessment

PRF AND PRP AT VALOURA

Two options, chosen for your treatment.

Both PRF and PRP are prepared from a patient's own blood and concentrate components involved in tissue repair and signaling. Differences in preparation affect their cellular composition, fibrin structure and handling characteristics. At Valoura, we use both PRP and PRF and select the approach based on the treatment area, procedure and individual patient.

Your physician explains which option is planned for your treatment at your consultation.

A NOTE ON EVIDENCE

PRF and PRP have been used in medicine and dentistry for years, and studies of PRF with microneedling report improvement in texture, scarring and appearance. The evidence is encouraging but still developing, and results vary from person to person. We do not promise a specific outcome.
