Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to commonly asked questions by patients seeking treatment with Regenerative Medicine.

  • What is the difference between PRF and PRP?
Both PRF and PRP are prepared from a patient's own blood and concentrate components involved in tissue repair and signaling. Differences in preparation affect their cellular composition, fibrin structure and handling characteristics. At Valoura, we use both PRP and PRF and select the approach based on the treatment area, procedure and individual patient.
  • Is PRF FDA-approved?
PRF is prepared from your own blood rather than bought as a drug. The equipment used to prepare it is regulated, but many of the ways PRF is used in aesthetic and regenerative care are considered off-label. We explain the evidence for your specific treatment at your consultation.
  • Who is a good candidate for regenerative medicine?
Good candidates are adults seeking non-surgical options to support healing, skin quality, hair restoration, or intimate wellness.

You may be a candidate if you are in generally good health and want to:

    • improve skin tone/texture

    • support hair growth

    • enhance sexual wellness

    • boost post-procedure recovery

A consultation determines the safest and most effective approach for your specific goals.
  • PRP/PRF or a cortisone injection?
They work differently. Cortisone is a steroid that reduces inflammation; PRP and PRF are prepared from your own blood. Neither is better for everyone – which is more suitable depends on your condition, history and goals, and your physician explains the options.
  • What are exosomes?
Tiny particles that cells release to send signals to each other. They carry proteins and growth factors that can influence how nearby cells behave.
  • What kinds of results can I expect?
Most patients notice gradual improvement in skin quality, texture, hair fullness, or sexual function over several weeks as the body responds to treatment. Results vary based on the treatment type, area treated, and your overall health.

Regenerative medicine is designed to support and enhance your body's own repair processes, not as an instant or "overnight" solution.
